Shortly after the release of his fifth studio album, Darkness and Light, John Legend feeds R&B fans with “Overload,” a standout track from the LP, featuring fellow crooner Miguel.
On the acoustic guitar gem, The two create a space of social awareness, both on and offline, as they deliver beautifully crafted, inspirational, and soulful lyrics about not neglecting “love.”
“Don’t we always make a show of love?” Legend asks. “Life on overload, must we make a spectacle of love?”
‘Darkness and Light,’ available everywhere, is preceded by the single “Love Me Now,” and the songs “Penthouse Floor” ft. Chance the Rapper, and “I Know Better.“
About the project, Legend stated: “While ‘Darkness and Light’ is the name of one of the songs, those words kept coming back to me. There’s a lot of darkness in the world, pain and conflict. But the album also represents the desire to find light, optimism, love and joy in the midst of all that.”
