Ahead of her sophomore LP Joyride, Tinashe releases a mixtape titled Nightride, and its accompanying video for the title track.
The 15-track project features previously released songs “Company” and “Ride Of Our Life,” and “Party Favors” (sans the Young Thug feature).
“I see [Nightride and Joyride] as two things that are equally the same,” she told Rolling Stone. “I think you can be a combination of things, and that’s what makes people human and complex. They are equally me. I don’t like to be limited to one particular thing so I want to represent that duality and that sense of boundlessness in my art.”
The video for “Nightride” is very “Lemonade-esque” in that it’s abstract, artsy, and poetic. The message? Being a light that changes the world.
