It was only four months ago in April when former Cheetah Girl/”The Real” talks show co-host Adrienne Bailon publicly announced she and Gospel recording artist Israel Houghton were an item after they were spotted vacationing in Mexico.
The news caused major backlash because just two months earlier in January, Houghton announced his divorce from his wife of twenty years, Meleasa, and Adrienne called off her 6-month engagement to her beau of six years, Lenny Santiago, in September 2015.
However (as seen on each other their IG accounts) the new couple are head-over-heels in love, so much so, that they got engaged yesterday (Aug 12.)! Houghton popped the question while on the final stop of their luxurious, romantic European vacation in Paris. Earlier that week, the enjoyed a sunny, romantic getaway in the Greek Islands.
He flew Adrienne’s parents in to witness the proposal, which took place on a boat ride on the Seine River with the Eiffel Tower in view. “The love of my life gave me the sweetest surprise EVER yesterday morning when we landed in Paris… MY PARENTS!!! It’s there [sic] wedding anniversary so, he flew them here to celebrate! Ahhh still in SHOCK… My heart is so full it could BURST!” she wrote on IG.
Bailon posted an IG video of her huge glittering, ring next to the glimmering Eiffel Tower. “You. Me. Oui,” she captioned.
Houghton posted the same photo with a lengthy, heartfelt caption that (in short) reads, “I’ve taken a giant leap of faith in asking her to share life with me forever and to give me a shot at getting it right this time… She has graciously granted my request.’
Their relationship progressed quick, but hey, can’t even hate on Adrienne for getting two rings in under two years! Watch their whirlwind romance unfold below:
