Solange was on the front lines this weekend.
The Saint Heron CEO lives in New Orleans, not too far away from Baton Rouge where many protests took place over the weekend against the local police department (BRPD) following the unjust police shooting death of Alton Sterling last week.
She tweeted about all the chaos she saw, including unjust behavior from the BRPD:
A few days ago, Solange posted a short clip of her singing a bit of Syreeta Wright’s 1972 song, “Black Maybe.”
“Been singing Syreeta’s “Black Maybe” over and over again trying to comfort my weary heart…” she captioned. “But what is comfort when the images of slain black bodies left to bleed are sketched into your being…over and over again. #AltonSterling #PhilandoCastile.”
