Most of America is reeling from the cell phone video of Louisiana-native Alton Sterling being unjustly murdered by two white police officers outside a convenience store for selling CDs, and rapper Drake is no exception.
Last night, Drizzy posted a few remarks on Instagram about how the video affected him. “I woke up this morning with a strong need to say something,” he wrote with a heavy heart.
“It’s impossible to ignore that the relationship between black and brown communities and law enforcement remains as strained as it was decades ago,” he continued. “No one begins their life as a hashtag, yet the trend of being reduced to one continues.”
The rapper continued, giving his condolences to Sterling’s family and stating how he’s concerned for his loved ones.
