If you planned on meeting and greeting Drake backstage at his Summer Sixteen Tour, think again: he’s pulled the plug on backstage fan visitations.
A source told PEOPLE that Drizzy has canceled all of his VIP visitation passes for the tour, which begins on July 20th in Austin, TX. Drake’s camp have informed the VIP package purchasers that the meet and greet sessions were canceled due to “scheduling issues.” VIP package tickets sold for up to $1000, which ticket holders will be refunded.
This news comes after the murder of Christina Grimmie, a rising singer, and former “The Voice” who was gunned down by a crazed fan a few weeks ago in Orlando while signing autographs following a performance. One could only presume that one reason for the cancellations is to cut down on chances for another fan ambush.
Justin Bieber is another star who announced earlier this year he would also be canceling meet and greet sessions, calling them “exhausting to the point of depression.”
