Emerging R&B artist Courtlin Jabrae releases a thrilling visual for his first single “That Way”. The artist’s hypnotic mash up of contemporary R&B and Hip-Hop melodies will remind listeners of an early 90’s sound (sample of KP & Envy’s “Shawty Swing My Way”) with a modern twist. The cinematic visual will keep you on your toes.
In 2005, Jabrae and school buddy Lil Action (aka Nicholas Brown) collaborated on the track “Crank Dat Batman.” When fans made a video of themselves dancing to the song, it went viral. Tasting early success, the duo signed a development deal with Universal Motown a year later. The pair eventually split up and reunited in 2012 before Lil Action died in a 2014 car accident.
In the interim, Jabrae began penning songs. Collaborating with mentor Troy Taylor (Ludacris, Jaheim), he’s written for Trey Songz and is currently working with the Timbaland production team. Jabrae also has placements with Gucci Mane and T-Pain. Coming full circle in 2015, he stepped back out with the first of several solo tracks that led to his signing with eOne.
The Carbondale, IL native will be releasing his debut album later this summer.
