Chris Brown is ready to open up about the ups and downs of his life and career.
As reported last month, Brown is prepping an autobiographical documentary called Welcome To My Life in which he finally lets the world in on his thoughts about his rise to stardom as a teen, and his fall from grace as “public enemy number one” after his assault on Rihanna in 2009.
In the trailer, he reflects on his relationship with Rihanna, saying it was “like a fairytale.” He also reflects on his mental state after the incident, saying he “felt like a f–king monster.” “I was thinking about suicide and everything else. I wasn’t sleeping; I wasn’t eating. I just was getting high,” he said.
The documentary also features commentary from stars such as Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Lopez, Mary J. Blige, DJ Khaled, and more giving Brown praise in new and old interviews. His mother Joyce Hawkins also adds commentary on Brown’s talent, his rise, and his fall. I felt like I was going to lose my child,” she says in the clip.
The doc doesn’t have a release date yet, but you can watch the trailer below:
