Virginia “Rock-Hop-Soul” artist Rebel J. Rose drops his funky single “SpeciaLuv,” which rides a N.O.R.E. sample all the way to the dance floor.
As a teen, he ended up as a solo artist and was signed to Big Starz Entertainment. There he recorded his first maxi single, Are You Ready?, which did well locally. Shortly after, RebelRose began creating his own music and developed his skills under producer Nottz Raw, a Virginia native who has worked with artists such as Busta Rhymes, Kanye West, and Snoop Dogg, among others. He was also mentored by Andreao “Fanatic” Heard, who has produced music for artists such as Lil’ Kim and Will Smith.
After years spent finding his own identity as an artist, RebelRose the artist has arrived. “I’ve faced adversity, rejection, and disappointment. These things have only strengthened me into a more determined artist,” he says. His experience with the music business has tested his will to stand up for what he truly believes is great music. “I’ve come to a point where I truly know who I am.”
“SpeciaLuv” follows his Pusha T-assisted single “Bad Girl”.
