It was only last month when singer/songwriter/mogul Ne-Yo and his fiance, very-pregnant model Crystal Renay, wed in an intimate ceremony in Rancho Palos Verdes, California.
Now the couple has welcome their bundle of joy yesterday (Mar. 15), a little boy named Shaffer Jr., named after his father.
Renay announced his birth with a photo on Instagram of her holding his little hand. She captioned, “Prince Shaffer Chimere Smith Jr has arrived! 6lbs 8oz, 19 inches? it was the scariest delivery ever and I ended up getting a emergency C-section cause of complications but with the help of my amazing doctor @drsherryr and my super calming husband @neyo I was able to get through it all and come out with best reward in the world… SJ!!!!! #BestDayOfMyLife”
This is Ne-Yo’s third child and Crystals first. Ne-Yo has been criticized on social media for supposedly leaving his ex-fiancee Monyetta Shaw, with whom he shares two kids with, daughter Maddie, 5, and son Mason, 4. Shaw was a cast member on Atlanta Exes, on which she revealed Ne-Yo suggested she get her tubes tied after not wanting any more children, then broke up with her shortly after, hindering her ability to have more children if she meets someone else.
Ne-Yo replied to the online commenters, “No matter what they say’ our Miracle is on the way, and I couldn’t feel more blessed. Your negativity means nothing to us. We are happy, we’ve BEEN happy and will always be HAPPY no matter what they say.”
