With August Alsina’s album This Thing Called Life due out next week on December 11, the New Orleans singer offers two, count ‘em, TWO newbies, “Been Around The World,” and “Dreamer.”
Chris Brown assists August on “Been Around The World.” Using an interpolation of Lisa Stansfield’s 1989 “All Around the World,” Aug and Chris declare their worldly travels as a way to meet (and bed) a bevy of women. “Been around the world and I don’t know why I should choose one lady,” August sings.
On “Dreamer,” August tells the story of two underprivileged youth who never thought highly of their futures because of their circumstances. “Guess that’s how it goes, then that’s all you know, if you ain’t a dreamer” he deduces.
