Soul/funk/R&B songstress, Timotha Lanae drops her sassy video for “God, Love, Music (Remix).”
The track touts an infectious funky bounce steeped in the sounds of Minneapolis music icons like Prince, The Time, and funk pioneer George Clinton. The clip has Lanae and a little diva-in-training grooving to the heavy rhythms. “God, love, music /that’s what I need, send it up to me in that order please,” they sing on the feel-good song.
Timotha has shared the stage with a multitude of Minneapolis legends including Alexander O’Neil, Sounds of Blackness, and Michael Bland (Prince/NPG). Her debut album RED reached #1 on the UK Soul Chart, and is brimming with Minneapolis royalty, including a duet with Stokley Williams from Mint Condition. Timotha’s follow up EP Rewind reached #1 on the Sweet Rhythms Chart, and August 2015 marked her third #1 on the UK Charts for the contribution of her single “8 Days ‘Til Spring” to the So Soulful Collection Vol. 2. Timotha was nominated “New Artist of the Year” for the SoulTracks People’s Choice Award 2014 and was named “One to Watch” in the July 2015 issue of the popular UK publication PRIDE Magazine.
Timotha is currently working on a concept album anticipated for release in early 2016.
