Monica's forthcoming eighth studio album, Code Red, is ready for the world. Lead by the single, "Just Right For Me," featuring Lil Wayne, the opus is now scheduled to arrive on September 18th via RCA.
"When Code Red drops, I'm looking forward to really promoting it, and going on tour and just taking the music that I love so much back to the masses," Monica told DJ Smallz. "It's a genre of music that is very important in my eyes because…this is the music we got married to, created to, born and raised to, there's a lot of heart and soul in it."
She continued: "I named it 'Code Red' because I think right now for R&B music, there's a state of emergency. Myself being one person, one artist, I can't change that on my own. No one is that powerful, but all of us together, I think we can make huge strides, allowing this generation to enjoy what this music embodies, which is a lot of love, passion, soul. You look at what Tyrese is doing; it's so important to the entire genre of music because it's reopening doors. That's what I'm hoping to do as well."
On 'Code Red,' Monica worked with Polow Da Don, Jo'zzy, Rico Love, Dallas Austin, Pop and Oak, Fat Boy, and more to create her storyline for what she calls her "re-introduction" to the world.
We're extremely excited to hear Monica's new music!
