"You had me chasing fools good," sings Jill Scott on her self-proclamation new single, "Fools Gold." On the sultry offering, the R&B songstress journeys back to a time where she was mentally weak in a relationship, but through her current happiness, she infuses a sense of new strength.
"I was living a dream, believing things that just ain't true / I can't believe I ever believed in you / You had me chasing fools gold," sings Jilly from Philly.
"Fools Gold" is not depressing, empowering maybe, but you can still feel the melancholy emotions that only Scott can imbue.
"Fools Gold," the follow-up to recently released buzz record, "You Don't Know," will appear on Scott's forthcoming fifth studio album.
