As May 4th draws nearer, Ciara continues to do her rounds of press to promote her forthcoming sixth studio album, Jackie, which is led by the personal single, 'I Bet.'
Speaking with W Magazine, the Grammy Award winner says she pulled inspiration from greats like Michael Jackson, Frank Sinatra, and Sade for the pending opus, insisting, "I have always wanted to make this kind of album."
She also says 'Jackie,' which is named after her mom, is more "expressive" that her previous efforts.
"I am so much more expressive and confident than I have ever been in my life," she says. "Even though there has been musical and personal growth, this album really takes me back in time, to when I didn’t overthink the creative process. Before, I would have said Goodies was my favorite album, but now I believe Jackie is my best body of work."
Ciara will also launch her first tour in six years on May 3rd to support the LP. "I am really looking forward to seeing everyone again! It’s going to be a great time," she adds.
