Veteran R&B songstress Monifah unwraps the music video for her latest single, "One Moment," an inspirational groove that encourages carving out a meditative space for self-improvement. In the Jay Walker-directed black-and-white clip, the 'R&B Divas' star welcomes clarity by posting up on top of a New York City Building and also in her home.
“It speaks to the heart of a very basic need we all share. The need to access that place inside of ourselves, be alone, quiet the ‘noise’ and tune into the voice of our creator,” she explained of the song, which was written and produced by herself and Quennel Worthy. “When you take time to slow down, be still and listen, this is when your creativity and healing have a chance to flourish. I’m sharing my personal wake-up call with the world. “One Moment” is my open letter.”
Monifah’s recent exposure from the R&B Divas franchise follows a nearly 14 year hiatus from the music spotlight. Her last album is 2000's Home, but clearly the diva is back with a positive, musical vengeance.
