Singer and "Vampire Diaries" actress Kat Graham returns to music with the throwback sounds of "1991." Sonically, it’s an ode to the era of music that Kat loves the most, the 90s, utilizing a sample of TLC's "What About Your Friends."
“I wanted to do something that incorporated this kind of old school vibe I’ve been always into. I love the 90s … The pop icons were Madonna and Janet and even Paula Abdul and these incredible women that could move,” she told WetPaint. “I mean they could really move and they were making this iconic music and they were all about, like, girl power. And I want to bring that back. I wanna bring back this kind of vibe that I really am at the end of the day.”
