Maryland Lavon is looking to become a solo star after her short lived role in Mary J. Blige's now defunct female group, The Mary Jane Girls AKA Just'us, whom were signed to the Queen of Hip Hop Soul's Matriarch imprint and Universal Music Group.
Hailing from Edgewood, Maryland, hence the moniker, the 22-year-old "Pretty Villain" began drumming up buzz on social media by covering songs from artists like Rico Love and Jhene Aiko.
Her latest effort, an original, is the 808 heavy “F Me When Ur Mad,” an infectious tune about raunchy love-making (aka rough sex).
“Throw me on the wall, pin me to the bed, show me you’re the boss / Punish me when I’m underneath because I’m about the break the law,” delivers Maryland.
Maryland is readying her debut EP for Spring 2015.
