December 17 will mark four years since Keri Hilson released her sophomore album, No Boys Allowed, and she’s in no rush to deliver her third studio effort.
In addition to enjoying her personal life, Hilson has been taking her time with the recording process for the upcoming body of work, and she has already logged studio time with Timbaland, Kanye West, and recently Monica Brown, who spoke positively about the project.
Monica writes on Instagram: “I'm blessed to have a great support system as a woman, mother & artist!! This woman plays a major part @kerihilson in the studio & the music sounds AMAZZZZING !! The Grammy behind her is so fitting because there's a few on the way!! #NewSoundGoingUp LOL #IJustStoppedByToReturnTheLove #HeadedOffToMySessionNow.”
It’s unclear what Hilson’s new sound will sonically feel like, but last year she told XXL that the music will “speak for itself.”
“I feel like people are just going to know. The music is going to speak for itself. I don’t think I need to re-introduce myself to the world,” she says. “I’ve been blessed to have fans all over the world. I know that they will hold me down and spread the word. My entrance into the industry was so organic. I love that. It was kind of word of mouth driven. Social networking driven to tell people. It’s driven all by the music. It’s not from my fashion. It’s not from anything but my lyrics. Just the songs. The music and the feeling people get from it. I’m most proud about that. I think this time around it will be the same way with a bigger impact.”
We're going to take Monica's word… Here's hoping Keri Hilson makes some killer music!
