Ok, so most of us kind of already knew that that the power of all things Beyonce is some ish to be reckoned with, and as it turns out, TIME magazine agrees — Mrs. Carter has been named one of the most influential people in the world in their upcoming issue. Not only that, the 32-year-old is the cover woman for the historic publication. Her hubby, Sean Carter a.k.a Jay Z, graced the cover last year.
“Shooting for TIME magazine was eventually one of the goals in my life,” Beyonce revealed. “It’s something important for me as an artist because it’s not about fashion or beauty or music. It’s about the influence I’ve had on culture and to be amongst the other influential people is a huge honor for me," she said of the feature, which was shot by Paola Kudacki.
The COO of Facebook and founder of LeanIn.org, Sheryl Sandberg, wrote a fitting tribute with Queen Bey’s feature as to why she believes the superstar has had such an impact on millions of people, by “using her voice both on- and offstage to urge women to be independent and lead. In the past year, Beyonce? has sold out the Mrs. Carter Show World Tour while being a full-time mother. Her secret: hard work, honesty and authenticity. And her answer to the question, 'What would you do if you weren't afraid?' appears to be 'Watch me. I'm about to do it.' Then she adds, 'You can, too.'"
When asked who influences her, Beyonce says her mother and daughter Blue Ivy impact her life. “I feel like my mother and my daughter have been probably the most influential, and becoming a mother, looking at my daughter in her eyes, made me into a woman and made me very, very strong,” she said.
Pharrell Williams, Kerry Washington, Miley Cyrus, and President Barack Obama all made the top 100 list.
