A judge has ruled that the police officer that took an evidence photo of Rihanna’s battered face following the February 2009 beating by ex-boyfriend Chris Brown was properly fired.
As the world already knows, the said photo ended up on tmz.com, but officer Rebecca Reyes continues to deny that she sent the photo.
In her court fight to get her job back, Reyes claims she took the photo to show to other officers and acquaintances.
According to the AP, Reyes was fired in 2012 after a disciplinary panel ruling, which concluded that evidence supports that Ryes "participated in the release of the photography showing Ms. Fenty's injuries to TMZ."
"At a minimum, the public is entitled to protection from unprofessional employees whose conduct places people at risk of injury and the government at risk of incurring liability," Superior Court Judge Luis A. Lavin wrote in his ruling.
Reyes had been an officer for 10 years before she was fired.
