Legendary R&B singer Patti Labelle and artist, actress and talk show host Queen Latifah are among the group of black women to be recognized on the upcoming Black Girls Rock! awards show on BET. Labelle will receive the Living Legend Award while Latifah will garner the Rock Star plaque.
In addition, tennis star Venus Williams, writer and producer Mara Brock Akil, social activist Ameena Matthews, and children’s activist Marian Wright Edelman will also receive honors.
