Justin Timberlake will not only appear at this weekend's MTV Video Music Awards, he will be taking the stage to receive the coveted Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.
MTV broke the news recently, stating "Timberlake has been the architect behind some of the most innovative and popular music videos of the last two decades including the emotionally drenched “Cry Me a River,” futuristic dance party, “Rock Your Body,” the dark and sultry, “SexyBack,” the exquisite black and white rat pack throwback “Suit & Tie,” as well as the hauntingly beautiful “Mirrors.” In honor of his artistry and innovation, Justin Timberlake will be presented the coveted “Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award” joining a prestigious list of past recipients."
The "Suit & Tie" and "Mirrors" singer joins Britney Spears, Madonna, R.E.M, the Beastie Boys and of course, Michael Jackson, in receiving the honor.
The 2013 “MTV Video Music Awards” airs LIVE from Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on August 25 at 9pm ET/PT.
