Our friends over at YouKnowIGotSoul sent us some exclusive shots of last night's (July 22) Atlantic Records & R&B Live presents: TGT (Tyrese, Ginuwine, Tank), K. Michelle, Sevyn Streeter, and Phoenix at Stage 48 in New York City.
In front of a jam-packed audience, new comer Phoenix kicked off the show, and was followed by buzzing singer-songwriter Sevyn Streeter. Signed to Chris Brown's CBE imprint, she performed her singles "I Like It" and "It Won't Stop," both set to appear on her forthcoming debut album. Sevyn also sang a rendition of the late Aaliyah's "Come Over," a song that she covered recently in an acoustic-styled music video.
K. Michelle took the torch from Sevyn, and did what she does best live – get connected with her audience on a personal level. She tamed hearts and stirred emotions with songs like "V.S.O.P.", "When I Get a Man", and "I Don’t Like Me," all lifted from her forthcoming debut album, Rebellious Soul, due out August 13.
TGT closed out the night as the overly stuffed room stood and cheered. The trio launched their set by performing covers of songs from groups who paved the way for them, like Bell Biv Devoe and Jodeci. They then transitioned to individual performances before returning together for their singles "I Need" and "Sex Never Felt Better".
TGT's upcoming debut album, Three Kings, will arrive August 20, you can now pre-order your copy on iTunes.
