Reality television shows are no longer viewed as the cemetery for artists' careers. Tamar Braxton, Kandi Burruss and Mary Mary have used the platform to enhance their careers and expand their fanbases.
Recently, Grammy Awarding winning producer Rodney 'Darkchild' Jerkins announced his new reality television show "House of Joy", a vehicle he plans to use to propel his wife's music career.
Billed as a family docu-series show, it will capture the couple's journey of mixing family and careers. Jerkins has assisted Brandy, Whitney Houston and Lady Gaga in their music careers, but the series raises the question on whether he can reignite his wife's vocation.
The series, executive by Patti Stanger and NUVO TV creative director Jennifer Lopez, will premiere on July 18, 2013 at 10pm.
