The 26th annual ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Awards brought out some of music's biggest stars on June 27 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles. The event, which paid special tributes to Usher and newcomer Kendrick Lamar, boast appearances from Ne-Yo, Tyrese, Michelle Williams, Melanie Fiona, Lyfe Jennings, Kelly Price, Elle Varner, Jeremih and many more.
Rapper 2 Chainz and Drake's producer Noah "40" Shebib shared songwriter of the year honors with their hits "Bandz a Make Her Dance" and "No Lie" (2 Chainz) and "The Motto" and "Take Care" (Shebib).
Usher received the Golden Note Award (presented by ASCAP president/chairman Paul Williams, Sean "Diddy" Combs, Epic chairman/CEO L.A. Reid and Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis) and the Vanguard Award went to Kendrick Lamar (presented by producer Dr. Dre).
