Robin Thicke's reign on the Billboard Hot 100 chart continues for a second week. The blue-eyed soul crooner's single, "Blurred Lines," the first offering from his upcoming album of the same name, moved 371,000 downloads last week to maintain its no.1 position.

According to Billboard, "Blurred Lines," which features rapper T.I. and Pharrell, notched the biggest sales week for any record in nearly four months (Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' "Thrift Shop," featuring Wanz, moved 412,000 units in early March).

As previously reported, "Blurred Lines" is Thicke's first No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 single and third No. 1 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.

It’s official: Robin Thicke’s hit single, “Blurred Lines” is on top of the charts for a second consecutive week. This catchy song has been bumping all summer long and now it looks like this track isn’t going anywhere soon! With its infectious beat, empowering lyrics and star-studded video featuring T.I. and Pharrell Williams, “Blurred Lines” has become an undeniable pop culture phenomenon that critics can’t seem to get enough of.

With over 235 million views on YouTube alone, there’s no denying that Robin Thicke is having one heck of a year. His collaboration with producers Pharrell Williams and Clifford Harris Jr., better known asT.I., have created something special here. They say music transcends language and this track proves just that; from London to Los Angeles everyone seems to be singing along to this earworm.

So what does it take for a tune like “Blurred Lines” to reach number one? It’s not every day we see a song stay on the Hot 100 list for two weeks straight so let’s dive into how this chart-topping hit came into being and why it continues to dominate the airwaves today.

Song Overview

Blurred Lines, the summer hit single from R&B singer Robin Thicke, is on top of Billboard’s Hot 100 chart for a second week. The song has been gaining momentum since its release in March and continues to climb up the charts with no sign of stopping.

The upbeat track combines elements of hip-hop, pop and soul music that have resonated with many people. It was produced by Pharrell Williams and features rapper T.I., which adds an extra element that appeals to fans across different genres. This crossover appeal is part of why it’s received so much critical acclaim and commercial success.

Its catchy chorus and clever lyrics make Blurred Lines one of the most popular songs this year – not just on the Hot 100 Chart but also around the world. With more than 250 million views on YouTube, it has become one of 2013’s biggest hits as well as a timeless classic for years to come.

Chart Performance

It’s clear that Blurred Lines has made an impressive mark on the music industry. After debuting at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart, it stayed in the top spot for a second week in a row – becoming only one of four songs to do so this year. The song also achieved success overseas, reaching number-one spots in more than 20 countries around the world and becoming Robin Thicke’s first single to hit the UK Top 40.

The track is continuing its reign as one of 2013’s biggest hits, with no signs of slowing down anytime soon. It sold over 600 thousand copies within two weeks of release and was certified triple platinum by RIAA just five months after its initial release date. Its radio play continues to increase each day, making sure that everyone knows about this summer anthem!

With all these accomplishments under his belt, Robin Thicke can be proud of what he has created. His catchy tune is sure to remain near the top of charts for some time yet – proving without doubt that Blurred Lines is here to stay.

Conclusion

I’m not surprised that Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” has topped Billboard’s Hot 100 for a second week. It’s an infectious pop/R&B hybrid with undeniable appeal, and its success is indicative of the current landscape in popular music.

The fact that it stayed at number one for two weeks proves it’s more than just a passing trend; this song is here to stay. The catchy beat and fun lyrics make it unforgettable, while its popularity speaks volumes about what people want to hear right now. This combination of factors will ensure its longevity and continued success on the charts for many weeks to come.

As a fan of Robin Thicke’s work, I couldn’t be happier to see his hard work pay off like this. He deserves every bit of recognition he gets from “Blurred Lines” making it so high up in the rankings – and I look forward to seeing where it goes next!
