Chris Brown and Rihanna have the ability to catapult other artists records with a guest feature or remix. That is exactly what they did this week. Chris Brown shifted attention from the release of his upcoming album, X, when he revised Mario's Somebody Else. Breezy plays the victim of love on his version, which blurs the lines of reality or entertainment. However, Brown’s adaptation drew more attention than Mario, who is reigniting his career after a five year hiatus.
“Bad” has spurred three versions of the song starting with Wale and Tiara Thomas – the Tiara Thomas solo cut and a recent release featuring Wale and Rihanna. Ri-Ri demonstrated her rap ability as she traded bars with Wale to prove the intensity of a bad girl.
Beyonce stayed original as she secured the third and fifth positions on Singersroom Most Popular Singles of the Week. The Hit-Boy produced “Rise Up” took the higher slot as Bey’s soaring harmonies drove home the song's triumphant message: "Fight for you and me, look into my eyes and believe / little woman we will fight, we will fight, little woman we will fight, we will rise." Her second record, “Grown Woman,” has been in high demand since she released it. For the third week in a row, “Grown Woman” has made a home on the Most Popular Singles of the Week.
