As Joe prepares to gives us more music in the form of Double Back: Evolution of R&B, he teases us with snippets of four of the album’s tracks: “Love & Sex,” “Magic City,” “Easy,” and “Baby.”
“Love & Sex” ft. Fantasia seems like a match made in R&B heaven as the two sing about craving more than the carnal in physical relationships, the arrangement sounding like a remake from the 70s. “Magic City” and “Easy” glide along on the wings of everything love while “Baby” mixes the old with the new; the James Brown sample of “I Got The Feeling” mixed with a little chopped and screwed action seems like one of the LP's standout records.
This definitely seems like a play-straight-through type of album, as each one of these snippets represent the grown and sexy in every sense of the word, from the subject matter to the arrangements.
The first single “I’d Rather Have A Love” is sturdily perched atop the Urban Adult Contemporary radio charts. Look for Double Back: Evolution of R&B on July 2, and meanwhile, get your Joe fix with the snippets below:
