"Lose To Win" and "Without Me" singer Fantasia Barrino stopped by VH1's Big Morning Buzz last week.
Fresh off performances on "American Idol" and "Good Morning America," Fantasia weighed in on the current season of "American Idol" and controversial judges Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey.
"It's really different, but I'm glad that they can change it up. Mariah Carey. She is music. She's done so many amazing things so, it's always good to have somebody that can hold weight like she does on American Idol. I was a little nervous singing in front of her. Nicki Minaj brings a different swag. She's a rebel and I like that about her. She does things her way and I seem to be that same way so, we're all good," said Fantasia.
Hearing about rumors that producers were open to replacing Mariah Carey with Jennifer Lopez, Fantasia said it would only be fair to let Mariah finish the season.
"I would say bring J.Lo on but don't take Mariah off," said Fantasia.

“Fantasia on ‘American Idol’ Rumors: Nicki Minaj is a ‘rebel'” has been making headlines over the past few weeks. Fans of both American Idol and rap superstar Nicki Minaj are wondering what this could mean for the show. With so much speculation around the rumors, it’s time to look into them in more detail.
The rumor that started it all was that Fantasia Barrino would be joining as a judge on the upcoming season of American Idol alongside Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj. This news quickly spread online with fans excited to see how these three powerhouse women would work together on one panel. But then came further details about Nicki Minaj being described by sources close to her as a “rebel”. What does this mean for American Idol? Is she really going to bring something unique and fresh to the judging table?
It appears that we have questions, but no answers just yet. We can only speculate until someone from within confirms or denies these reports officially. However, while we wait for confirmation, let’s take a closer look at what ‘being a rebel’ might mean when it comes to Nicki Minaj joining American Idol and why this is potentially great news for viewers and fans alike.
History Of Fantasia’s Involvement With ‘American Idol’
Fantasia Barrino has been a major part of the ‘American Idol’ franchise since 2003. She won season three and since then, her career has skyrocketed. Her latest involvement in the show appears to be as a judge alongside other stars such as Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan. Recently, rumors have circulated that Nicki Minaj could also be joining the judging panel for season 13.
As an alumnus of ‘American Idol,’ Fantasia has shared her thoughts on these rumors and seems supportive of Minaj’s potential addition. The singer-songwriter said that she believes Minaj would bring “a rebellious spirit” to the show if given the chance. While not everyone might agree with this assessment, it is clear that Fantasia sees something special in the rapper’s presence which could benefit ‘American Idol.’
Despite all this excitement about what new changes may come to ‘American Idol,’ one thing remains certain – Fantasia will always remain close to heart of fans who supported her during her journey through the competition years ago. Having someone from their own family back on stage can only make for great viewing experience!
Nicki Minaj’s Impact On The Show
If Nicki Minaj joins the judging panel of ‘American Idol’, it is certain to have an impact on the show. Her presence will bring a unique flavor that has never been seen before, one which could be described as rebellious and progressive. It’s likely that this new dynamic would make the show more entertaining for viewers, while also providing contestants with valuable advice from someone who has experienced success in their own musical career. Additionally, having someone like Nicki on the show could help draw attention from younger audiences who may not have watched ‘American Idol’ previously.
That said, there are some potential drawbacks if Nicki does join the team. For example, her outspoken nature might cause controversy or tension among other judges or even between herself and contestants. This could lead to awkward moments during live broadcasts which nobody wants to see. Furthermore, her influence may only last so long as she may decide to leave after a few seasons due to scheduling conflicts or other commitments.
In any case, whether or not Nicki Minaj becomes part of ‘American Idol’ remains to be seen – but either way, Fantasia Barrino’s support for such a move speaks volumes about what kind of person she is and how much faith she has in others around her.
