Q Parker Leads Kreesha Turner & Ashanti on Top 10 Most Popular R&B Singles

While we spend a lot of time searching for the next superstar, this week, attention was diverted to veterans that know how to make solid records. LL Cool J, Raheem DeVaughn and Q Parker are names we trust based on their past work and their collaboration on the “Yes” remix proves they still have the ability to seduce our ears and more.  The remix is a track from Q Parker’s debut solo album, The Manual , which was released at the end at last year.

Newcomer Kreesha Turner locked down the second position on Singersroom’s Most Popular R&B Singles. The Canadian/Jamaican songstress incorporated hip hop and dancehall production into her new single “Gimme Dat.” The 27-year-old singer-songwriter has been on top of the Canadian pop scene for years, but is changing her image and sound. It appears to be working as people push her new record on the most popular songs on the week.  The record will appear on Turner’s upcoming third album, Evolution Inevitable .

Ashanti has not quit after enduring bumps and roadblocks with the release of her first independent album Braveheart. This week she dropped the projects third single “Never Should Have,” a musical tale that hints at the dissolution of her relationship with Nelly. The record has the same appeal as Usher’s “Confessions” and Justin Timberlake’s “Cry Me A River.”

The remaining names on the Most Popular R&B Singles includes repeaters from last – Beyonce, Tank, India.Arie, John Legend, in addition to new entries Adrian Marcel, The World Famous Tony Williams, and Ariana Grande. See the full order of the list.
