Chris Brown and girlfriend Rihanna may be back on the airwaves in 2013 together. According to the Grammy winner, he wrote a song for his beau that they recorded together and the cut may make his forthcoming sixth studio album X.
“I wrote a song for her called ‘Put It Up’ that we did together,” says Brown. “It’s still in the pot of songs we have to pick from. It may or may not make it, but you know, because she’s already on it, it’s a strong possibility.”
Already with "Nobody’s Business" (Rihanna's Unapologetic), “Birthday Cake (Remix),” and "Turn Up The Music (Remix)" in their collaborative chest, it's safe to say another collaboration will only heighten the demand for a duet album from music's youngest power couple.
It's also great that the two are in a great place and Brown was happy to admit that recently: "I try to make sure everything is fun. It has to be fun and it has to be genuine."
As far as X, Brown is concocting more meaningful songs, different from his usual Pop/R&B material, and he's using legends like Stevie Wonder, Sam Cooke, and Aretha Franklin to be his guiding light.
“I just wanted to have more substance to who I am as an artist,” says Brown. “When it comes to me explaining who I am like through my art, I wanted to be more mature.”
In related news, Brown recently partner with artist Romero Britto in support of Best Buddies International. Check out photos of their artistic collaborations below.
