In an industry where women are suppose to stick together, it seems Ciara and Rihanna are pulling further apart. In a recent interview with Chicago's Tony Sculfield and the Morning Riot, CiCi spoke out about her feelings towards Rihanna, following a skeptical instagram photo.
In the photo, uploaded to Instagram by Rihanna's BFF, Melissa Forde, it shows the friends watching Ciara's a cappella version of her new single “Body Party,” with the caption: "#BodyParty (bathroom acapella version) #London."
Ciara, who first retweeted the photo, now feels like she was the target of some negative press.
“I thought everything was cool because I actually saw Rihanna two years ago at the Met Gala after we had the little small back and forth and from what I recall everything was cool. So, in my mind I operate from a place of love and pure support. If you would have asked me about her up until this point I would have nothing but good things to say because I’m really happy for her. But I didn’t receive what they did from a positive place," Ciara told the station.
Ciara has been making her comeback with her next studio album, One Woman Army, slated for release this June. In Addition, she is also set to appear in the the upcoming season of BET's "The Game."
