Kelly Rowland is no longer holding on to those secret names and stories in her proverbial black book of past boyfriends, love interests and more. According to Ms. Kelly, her new album, "Talk A Good Game," is about doing "grown woman" things, talking grown folks business and being honest.
With one of the songs on the album being titled "Dirty Laundry," Kelly Rowland says "I'm really honest on this album…. Even the title track is about relationships – the ins, the outs – all the interesting moments of relationships. I'm really ready for people to hear this album. It's kind of hard to keep it to myself."
Citing a little help from The Dream, who told her that people want to hear more about her life in her music, Kelly says she was nervous at first, but now doesn't really care because it's about being truthful and honest.
"No, I really don't give a shit. It's nothing like that. My mom would say, "The truth shall set you free," so no matter what truth that is, I think it's important to be honest about it," she told Rolling Stone.
In related news, Kelly Rowland has nothing against Keyshia Cole per say, but she says Destiny's Child matters more to a lot more people than the negative comments Cole dished out during the Super Bowl (about Michelle Williams).
"It didn't even make it on my radar until other people brought it up. It didn't even matter. We had a wonderful performance, and that's all I cared about. I was with my sisters and the three of us matter to each other, and that's all that counts. We matter to a lot more people, with all due respect, than her. So, I really don't care what she said," said Kelly Rowland.
In addition to her album, Kelly Rowland is also at work on a few items for retail, including shoes.
"I'm a grown woman now, and it's time to do grown-woman things," she says.
Kelly Rowland's "Talk A Good Game" album is due for release later this year.
