Jamie Foxx marvels at fellow recording artists like Alicia Keys, Stevie Wonder and Kanye West because music was his first love.
In a preview for an upcoming airing of "Oprah's Next Chapter," Foxx admits that he wanted to be a musician above anything else, but just happened to be funny.
"If I'm in the studio, I'm completely on music. I try to go to that place and that's the toughest thing for me to do. When I'm with other musicians, sometimes I go back to, almost like, childhood, because that's what I always wanted to be," says Foxx. "I really wanted to just be a musician. I didn't want to be anything else, but I was funny and all that. When I see Alicia Keys or Swizz Beatz or Kanye (West) or Jay Z or Stevie Wonder I just marvel. What I have to do is constantly remind myself not to be funny because that's my natural. [I'm] naturally funny."
