We’ve got some music off the Django: Unchained soundtrack and it is gooood. Anthony Hamilton and Elayna Boynton sat down together and came up with “Freedom,” a song with sounds that get deep down into the core of your soul and sits there.
“Me, Elayna and Kelvin got to thinking about Django’s story-how sometimes we have to be willing to put it all on the line,” Hamilton told USA Today. “And ‘Freedom’ was born from that place. A place deep inside all of us, that fights to free ourselves from the chains of the world.”
The two R&B artists sing of overcoming the mental chains that come with a life where you constantly find yourself pushing upward and reaching outward. But they have no plans on stopping the push forward.
The combination of Hamilton and Boynton’s complimentary vocals, great instruments, good lyrics and chains clanking in the background makes the track a Singersroom favorite. Ms. Boynton and Mr. Hamilton should plan to do more projects together.
Django: Unchained comes out Christmas Day, but you don’t have to wait that long for the soundtrack that releases Dec. 18.
