Rihanna opened up to fans last night in an exclusive live chat from the Facebook headquarters in New York City, hosted by Bravo’s Andy Cohen. The 24-year-old Bajan beauty touched on various topics, including her new album Unapologetic, her duet with Chris Brown, things said about her in the media, Madonna and more. Check out the full video and some excerpts below.

On Nobody’s Business…Nobody’s Business is basically the way I look at everything regarding my personal life. Even though you have to witness it, it’s being documented at every second, it’s still mine. When it gets to my music, I’ll give…and I just feel like I need to keep a little bit for me….If I had it my way, it would be really nobody’s business.

On Things Said About Her In The Media…Sometimes they can really make it believable and you can’t get mad at people for believing it. That part sucks, but you can’t even get caught up in that.

On Madonna…Madonna is one of those artists who was very self-expressive, she was bold, she was fearless, and all of those were things I looked up to as a young woman. I really just wanted to be myself and feel free to express it and not really be afraid of what people think about it…Madonna’s still the s**t, and she’ll always be Madonna. She’s the queen.

In 30 Years…I wanna be skinny, I wanna be fierce, I hope my tits are still sitting up.

On Unapologetic
…It’s very true, it’s very raw, it’s honest…there’s only one truth and you can’t apologize for that.

Rihanna’s Recent Interview

In a candid interview with The New York Times, Rihanna opened up about her experiences in the public eye. She discussed how she handles media backlash and the pressure of being an icon to young people around the world.

Rihanna talked about why it’s important to maintain control over one’s own narrative. “I don’t want people to feel like they can define me,” said Rihanna. She also shared that while she respects Madonna as a pioneer for women in music, she doesn’t take fashion advice from anyone else.

The singer-songwriter has her own unique way of dealing with criticism: by not engaging or responding at all. “If I had responded to some of the things that I read about myself—some of the comments—it would have been bad for my career.” Instead, Rihanna chooses to focus on making herself proud and creating art that speaks directly to her fans without worrying too much about outside opinions.

Reactions To Her Comments

Rihanna’s recent interview has sparked a lot of conversation online. Many fans have praised her for speaking openly and honestly about her experiences in the public eye, while others have questioned if she is too open with her personal life.

Many people commented on how it was refreshing to hear Rihanna talk candidly about such topics like media backlash and respecting other female musicians without fear of judgment or criticism. Fans also expressed admiration for her strong sense of self-worth and independence.

On the flip side, some critics argued that by sharing so much information publicly, Rihanna may be opening herself up to further scrutiny from the media and general public. Despite these concerns, many agreed that Rihanna’s words resonated strongly with them as they look to find their own voices in an ever-changing world.

Conclusion

In conclusion, Rihanna’s recent interview has certainly sparked some interesting conversations. Her comments on media backlash and Madonna have been met with mixed reactions from the public. Many people have applauded her for speaking out about such topics while others felt it was inappropriate or unnecessary. However, regardless of how one feels, it is clear that Rihanna will not let anyone dictate what she can and cannot say. She continues to be an outspoken advocate for herself and other women in the industry, unafraid to speak her truth no matter what criticism may come her way. In this regard, I think we can all appreciate her willingness to stand up for herself and use her platform to promote a positive message of female empowerment.
