Lil Wayne Cosigns Drake's Production On New Aaliyah Album
Lil Wayne is in favor of Drake and Noah producing the new Aaliyah album. Speaking out Monday, the award-winning Hip Hop star says Drake is "thoughtful" and the work is "awesome."

"Everybody knows what Aaliyah did and done for music and culture, period, and it's always good to do that, for not only for people like that, just for her fans — you know what I mean?" Wayne told the Associated Press. "Drake's a very thoughtful person. Everyone knows that. It's an awesome collaboration."

As recently reported, Barry Hankerson, uncle of the late singer and labelhead at Blackground Records, spoke out in support of Drake over the weekend. He too said Drake is moving in a solid direction with possibly sixteen songs slated to appear on the effort.

"The intent is not to disrespect the family, nor do BlackGround Records want to shed any bad light around Aaliyah’s legacy. We’d like to go in a different direction with the 16 tracks and have been more than open to work with past collaborators," said Barry Hankerson.

According to Lil Wayne, the music he heard is better than what is actually out now.

"Her music is still awesome," says Wayne. "It's still better than a lot of music out right now."
