Rihanna may just top the Billboard Hot 100 with a strong debut of "Diamonds" next week.
According to Billboard, the brand new single is heating up with projected sales around 200k.
While that is good news, Rihanna is facing some stiff competition in the form of a three way battle for the top spot next week. Competing with new singles from Ke$ha ("Die Young") and Taylor Swift ("Begin Again"), "Diamonds" may slide to no.3 if fans don't get out there and support it.
of "Begin Again," Swift could very well topple both Rihanna and Kesha with 300,000 downloads by Sunday. If that happens "Begin Again" will become Swift's second no.1 charting debut in recent months. Her last single "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" sold a strong 623,000 copies first week.
"Diamonds" leads Rihanna's forthcoming seventh studio album.
