Pop/R&B star Rihanna has won the coveted Video of The Year "Moon Man" for "We Found Love" at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards at Staples Center in Los Angeles. The Barbadian beauty, who rocked a new hairstyle, beat out several top stars including BFF Katy Perry, who shouted her out earlier in the show, stating: “Doesn’t my girl Rihanna look sexy tonight?”

As we previously reported, Rihanna kicked off the awards with a performance of her new single "Cockiness (I Love It)" with rapper A$AP Rocky.
