Grammy Award winner R. Kelly would like R&B artists to focus on music, love and “making babies” instead of starting beefs via Twitter and other avenues.
Speaking out via MTV, the “Write Me Back” singer says “I feel like there’s a lot of talented guys out there when it comes to R&B (but) stay away from beef.”
“Stay true and respectful to the music and the one who inspired you to do what you do,” said Kelly. “You don’t want R&B to get into beef. Leave that to the rappers. Let them do that.”
Taking it a step further, the “Soulacosta: Diary of Me” author says R&B should be mature.
“Let R&B be classy. That’s for the ladies, and having the babies and having fun,” said Kelly.
As previously reported, R. Kelly hinted at working with Jay Z and possibly other R&B artists in the future. He also shouted out Trey Songz, Rihanna, Drake and Beyonce as acts he has been listening to as of late.
