The cast of TV One's new series R&B Divas will come together in song for a compilation inspired by Whitney Houston.
Efforts to bring the charity compilation album to life will be shown on the forthcoming season of R&B Divas with Faith Evans, Syleena Johnson, and more contributing.
Proceeds from the album will benefit the Whitney E. Houston Academy of Creative and Performing Arts in East Orange, New Jersey.
As previously reported, R&B Divas is due to premiere August 20 and will document the lives of five R&B Divas including Nicci Gilbert and Monifah.
"These ladies have known each other in the industry for quite a while," TV One executive VP of original programming and production Toni Judkins says of the series. "We aren't creating relationships for the sake of a television show, so their actions, relationships and emotions are authentic and true to life-and it makes for a powerful narrative."
R&B Divas joins TV One's growing line up of series including Unsung and Life After.
