By now, everyone’s heard of the fight that went down between Drake and Chris Brown (or their crews) that popped off early Thursday at New York’s W.i.P club. Speculation began brewing if the brawl was over Rihanna, a former flame to both music stars.
US Weekly reports the pop princess wasn’t at the club that night, but she was in town and heard about the drama-filled incident. A source tells US Weekly “Rihanna loves this!…Men fighting over her? Are you kidding? Of course. [She] loves the drama.” The anonymous source adds, “[She] got text messages from everybody telling her what happened right after it went down. She just laughed. She’s spoken to both of them and just thinks it’s crazy. She’s glad she wasn’t there though!”
Clubbers present at the time of the confrontation say the altercation was instigated by Chris and Drake’s entourages. A witness at the club said, “Chris and Drake never got in each other’s faces. It was entourage versus entourage, never Drake versus Chris.”
What is certain is that Chris was physically harmed in the drama, as he tweeted a picture of a gash in his chin after an alleged member of Drakes’ entourage threw a bottle at him. Brown’s girlfriend Karrueche and his bodyguard are also said to be injured in the brawl.
With all the injuries seeming like they are on Brown’s side, did Drakes’ camp instigate the whole thing? Drake had denied having taken any part in the melee. Drake’s camp issued a statement saying “He was on his way out of the club when the altercation began. He did not engage in any activity which resulted in injury to person or damage to property.”
But, despite the obvious rift between the two camps, Rihanna “wants to be friends with both of them,” the source explains.
