Donna Summer Loses Battle with Cancer at 63
Disco queen Donna Summer passed away this morning (May 17) at the age of 63 after a long battle with breast cancer. TMZ was the first to report, saying she was recording an album. Few details are available, but it is reported she was in Florida at the time of her death.

Born on Dec. 31, 1948, Summer sang in local churches and later became the five time-Grammy winning voice of disco. Her hits include “Last Dance,” “Hot Stuff,” “MacArthur Park” and “Bad Girls.” Also, winner of six American Music Awards, she charted three multi-platinum albums, and was the first female artist to chart with back-to-back multi-platinum double albums.

She is survived by her husband, three daughters, and four grand-children.
