Vy Higginsen Launches Harlem Record, Debut Album from Cissy Houston
The creator of classic Gospel musical "Mama, I Want to Sing," Vy Higginsen, has launched Harlem Records with the help of Grammy Awarding winning singer Cissy Houston. The first project released from the label is Houston's four track EP entitled 'Walk On By Faith.'

"I wanted to capture the authentic, unique sound of one of the greatest singers of all time," says Ms. Higginsen of
"Walk On By Faith." "Cissy’s voice and lyrics have the power to heal and touch all people. I am renewed and
inspired by Cissy’s courage and faith, and find comfort in her message."

Through her new venture, Higginsen is focused on helping to restore Harlem to its prominence as an entertainment Mecca in the world’s cultural centerpiece for the musical arts. She has been a mainstay in the Harlem community, as the Executive Director of The Mama Foundation for the Arts, a nonprofit focused on the mission to keep the legacy of Gospel, Jazz and R&B alive and growing.
