Adele's
Grammy-winning album '21' has officially passed Michael Jackson's
'Thriller' album, and takes the fifth spot, on the UK's best-selling
albums list, according to Martin Talbot from the Official Charts
Company.
“To add to her many landmark records, Adele’s
achievement in overtaking ‘Thriller’ in the all-time sales list is truly
remarkable," said Talbot. "‘Thriller’ has long been recognized as one
of the most iconic albums of all-time."
He added: "There is now no doubt that ‘21’ can be spoken of in the same breath.”
To date, Adele's sophomore effort has sold 4,274,300 copies in the UK, 500 more than MJ’s 1982 classic.
