William Balfour’s trial will proceed as planned, following a hearing earlier this week. In that hearing, Judge Charles Burns denied the defense team’s request to delay the trial due to a “scheduling conflict.”
As previously reported, Balfour is accused of killing award-winning singer/actress Jennifer Hudson’s mother, brother and nephew in 2008.
Balfour is alleged to have threatened to kill members of the family numerous times before the October 2008 slayings.
Jury selection is to begin April 9 with the trial to follow April 23.
Hudson and her sister, Julia, Balfour’s estranged wife, may testify during the trial.
