Brandy has a grade “A” list of producers and songwriters working on her forthcoming Chameleon/RCA Records debut. Detailing her progress Thursday, Brandy says she will soon enter the studio with Drake.
“I haven’t recorded it yet but I’m looking forward to it because it’s such a great melody and the beat is nice. It’s a vibe that I haven’t dipped into and I think the fans would get a kick out of hearing my voice over a record like that,” Brandy says of a record Drake sent her way recently. “I’m not sure if Drake’s going to be on it but I’m a huge fan of his. His melodies are beautiful, I like the way I sound in the shower singing his songs.”
In addition to Drake, the “Have You Ever” singer has already worked with Frank Ocean on a song called “Scared of Beautiful”. But, her list of producers also includes Chris Brown, Danja, Jim Jonsin, Timbaland and longtime friend/collaborator Rodney Jerkins!
While it is unclear what the latter have in store for Brandy, her focus is to make this album’s sound “different,” “about love” and “edgy.”
In related news, Brandy’s music video with Monica, “It All Belongs To Me,” has been shot and will premiere, in full, soon.
