BMI and ThisIsRnB.com have collaborated to present soul singer LaJon’s debut EP release “Definition of Lovers Lost” with a highly anticipated listening party with a live performance on Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2012 from 6:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Soul Asylum Studios [1676 Defoor Cir. NW Atlanta, GA 30318].
As BMI’s first “Know Them Now” video songwriting contest winner and ThisIsRnB.com’s emerging artist, LaJon, 22, has garnered a huge following of supporters who will attend the festive event. For those who can’t make it have no fear. ThisIsRnB.com will host the festive night via Ustream on its website along with IamLaJon.com.
“This EP is extremely conceptual,” said LaJon. “It’s a journey. A travel through a young man’s mind as he finds and loses love all while remaining optimistic that he will find love again. This body of work is very real to me because these songs come from real places and experiences and I think that’s what makes for the best music â an emotional attachment.”
Attendees and viewers from home will enjoy detailed descriptions of the eight-track, soulful masterpiece and trailblazing performances from LaJon and his band “dYe-versitY.” The evening will feature original music and a tantalizing cover of his favorite song Adele’s “Someone Like You” with DJ Genius on the 1s and 2s, a brilliant menu of appetizers and beverages.
“The EP features acoustic sounds with elements of rock and soul,” said LaJon about his upcoming project. “Motown and even country. All these aspects help will illustrate the emotional elements of relationships including vulnerability, betrayal and heartbreak. There’s a lot of passion behind the lyrics in ‘Definition Of Lovers Lost’ and I hope people feel it the same way I did when I wrote it.”
