Chris Brown has a keen eye for fashion, just not up to the standards GQ (UK) editors might deem appealing.
In a video released last year, Brown admitted how he looks at fashion “a lot different,” crediting Pharrell Williams as an influence.
“The clothes don’t wear you, you wear the clothes,” said Brown. “A lot of my fashion icons today are like Pharrell, he has a lot of incredible style and him being from Virginia, that’s always one of those things that get the kids going excited. For me, I was excited as a kid, being able to see him influence the world with his fashion and him being from where I’m from. That was kinda dope. People wanna be the artist on TV, not saying they embody the artist, but they look up to the person that’s their idols and role models.”
As reported earlier this week, GQ (UK) deemed his style the worst, claiming he should look into tailoring his clothing so it actually fits.
In related news, Chris Brown shot the music video for “Turn Up The Music” this week. The single, taken from his next album, “Fortune,” will be released to fans February 14.
